Steph Ching (she/her) is an Emmy-nominated director, producer, and editor. Her work often focuses on social issues, identity, and the complexities of the human experience. Her most recent feature, Emmy-nominated documentary SLUMLORD MILLIONAIRE, focuses on housing justice and tenants’ rights in New York City. The film premiered at DOC NYC where it won the Audience Award and is available on PBS. She also directed and produced AFTER SPRING, a feature documentary about the Syrian refugee crisis. The film was Executive Produced by Jon Stewart and had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. AFTER SPRING  was broadcast on STARZ and is the recipient of a Frontline Award for Documentary Journalism. Her work has been supported by the Sundance Institute, Latino Public Broadcasting, Center for Asian American Media, Firelight Media, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and New York State Council of the Arts. Her editorial work can be seen on platforms such as HBOMax, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Paramount+, PBS, and more. She was an honoree on DOC NYC's inaugural "40 Under 40" list as a director. She lives in Brooklyn and is the proud daughter of Hong Kong immigrants.
